Artist Bio
Maria D. Clements – an indie pop singer-songwriter, and female producer based in the UK, Hampshire.
From childhood, she was surrounded by classical, folk, and pop music. She uses this inheritance to create her style by marrying classical instruments, rocky guitars, cinematic sound, and folk instruments with a commercial pop sound.
I am passionate about writing songs to empower others with positive messages about tolerance, diversity, compassion, mercy, kindness, and equality coexistence in the modern world.
In 2023, Mariya released her first mini EP, “Fear”, a mix of pop and rock genres
“Fear is one of the seven universal emotions experienced by everyone around the world” (Ekman, 2022).
EP “Fear” reveals family and couple problems: toxic abusive relationships in the song ‘Bridges’, teenage depression and self-harming issues in ‘Prayer’; political, ecological and pandemic events in ‘2020’; protest against the wars, their tragedy and impact in ‘Stop the War’.
Currently, Mariya is releasing her second album “Broken” – a collection of romantic pop songs about hardships and failures in various love stories.

Where Does the Love Go
Where Does the Love Go – a pop song about long-term relationships that are on the verge of breaking.
The lyrics were taken from Anna Donaldson’s poem with the same title.
It’s a monologue, accepting that feelings are gone regardless of life and precious moments together and it’s time for a change.
The song starts with beautiful warm acoustic guitar chords and head voice melisma, continued by rhythmic chords to show the tension, messed up emotions and anticipation of motion and change. The melody’s rhythmic design is changed in the chorus, showing the climax, the cry from the heart with an unanswered question to the audience: “ Where Does Love go? Show me the way”
The despair of the main heroine is emphasized by soprano strings and intense drum beats. The main vocals in verses are embellished by various back vocals, giving the song jazzy vibes.
The end of the song is a so-called instrumental climax made by orchestral strings, synth sound, solemn tom beats and soaring high melismas as a way to show feelings and emotions of confusion, a whirlpool of events, confusion, pain, despair, the anticipation of a new stage in life.
Mariya loves to make show songs where instrumental versions can transfer the emotion of the song and where the main performer and supporting dancers can show the beautiful act
